SANFELETTO is located in the heart of the charming hillside ridge that, from Conegliano and up along the Pedemontana route till Valdobbiadene, circumscribes the production area of Prosecco DOC.
An evocative landscape of luxuriant hills where the scent of fine wine fills the air. Vines have been growing here for centuries. For three generations, the company SANFELETTO has been growing, harvesting and making wine exclusively with the best grapes, by selecting them from the most valuable hillside crus, # vineyards of special high quality.
Owned by Paolo & Imelda Ceschin, it was founded at the beginning of the last century.
The wine Prosecco was named after a village in Trieste, Italy dating back to 1308. Glera is the white grape variety used to produce Prosecco.
It is grown mainly in the Veneto region of Italy, traditionally in an area near Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, in the hills north of Treviso recognised as DOCG area.
DOCG means – Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (controlled designation of origin guaranteed) Prosecco is produced within the specified region using defined methods that satisfies a defined quality standard.
DOCG labelled wines are analysed and tasted by government–licensed personnel before being bottled. DOCG wine bottles are then sealed with a numbered governmental seal across the cap or cork.
